About Us
Big Pipe Mechanical is a San Francisco based company that provides HVAC sheet metal piping, plumbing, and construction services for commercial, industrial, residential, and new construction projects. President and Owner, Charles Matthews, has over 35 years of industry experience working with unions and mechanical contractors throughout the United States. With a company mission of “Building in a Big Way,” Charles and his team bring the highest level of skill and efficiency to every project.
About The Owner
Prior to founding Big Pipe Mechanical in 2019, Charles spent his early career as a union member, with Local 72 in Atlanta, and continued to work as a welder and pipe-fitter throughout the United States. While working as a pipe welder on a project in Prudhoe Bay, Alaska Charles decided to start his own construction business, where he could apply his 35+ years of industry experience.
Well-versed in every aspect of construction, including steam fitting, welding, pipefitting, plumbing, HVAC installation, project management, and supervising; Charles has experience managing small and large scale industrial, commercial, and residential projects. He is a current union member with Local 38 in San Francisco, and holds welding and pipefitting certifications.
Charles has lived in San Francisco for more than two decades, and takes pride in the strong professional relationships he has built and continues to foster in the construction industry.
